i~HD Hospital Network Workshop participants join forces

During the i~HD Hospital Network Workshop in Paris on 5&6 March 2018, 65 delegates demonstrated great levels of commitment to tackle the workshop theme ´Gaining the Benefits of Improved Health Data´. It was great to see how representatives from hospitals, academia, pharma and patient organisations joined forces to overcome barriers and explore ways to advance and promote the benefits of improved health data. On Day one participants focussed on the use of good quality health data in hospitals to monitor and improve outcomes, international standards for clinical outcomes and the importance of patient reported outcomes. Hospital case studies and breakout groups examined how relevant indicators may be derived from routinely collected EHR data. i~HD presented its newly developed data quality assessment tools and standard operating procedures for assessing and improving data quality in hospitals. On Day two delegates concentrated on exploring the motivations and development of business cases for hospitals investing in advanced EHR systems and improving data quality. i~HD launched its health data innovation task force regarding the imminent General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The i~HD Hospital Network Workshop - organised in collaboration with Assistance Publique Hôpitaux De Paris (AP-HP), ICHOM, the European Patients´ Forum (EPF), EFPIA and ICON – will be remembered as a major milestone towards achieving better health outcomes for patients and caregivers.
