Data Qualtiy Service for Hospotals

i~HD has developed methods and tools to assess the quality of health data within a hospital electronic health record (EHR), and is growing expertise in how hospitals can improve their data quality. It is now launching this as a service available to hospitals (DQS4H, see https://www.i-hd.eu/dqs4h/).

You will contribute to following aspects of the DQS4H service

  • Performing Data Quality (DQ) Assessments:
    • Project scoping,  preparation and planning
    • Dataset(s) generation
    • DQ Assessment
    • DQ Outputs
  • In collaboration with i~HD’s Customer Relationship Manager, managing (potential) clients
  • Follow-up after an assessment by promoting and defining improvement strategies
  • Promoting the DQS4H in Europe:
    • defining our promotion strategy at a European level
    • creating and improving promotional materials
    • presenting the service e.g. at conferences, workshops or meetings

This position will report to i~HD 's Managing Director, based in the office in Ghent.

Your Profile

MSc degree in computer sciences, statistics, medicine or health sciences, or equivalent.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • 5+ years experience, preferably in a hospital context
  • Experience in (health) data quality analyses
  • Experience with electronic health records, hospital information systems, (clinical) data warehouses, …
  • Familiar with quality assurance in a software or (health) data context
  • Statistical knowledge with experience in using statistical software packages such as SPSS, SAS, R, or similar
  • Database design and querying skills, e.g. SQL
  • Capable to manage projects independently from a to z
  • Experience in applying data science methods to problems in a hospital environment
  • Excellent analytical skills and a good problem solver
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, verbally and written
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to explain complex analytical concepts to people from other disciplines
  • Fluency in English and Dutch and/or French is mandatory
  • Independent and well-organized, demanding high quality of your own work
  • Interest in academic and/or project-based research activities

Demonstrated experience in handling professional communications such as via email, report writing, analysis of data (e.g. via spreadsheets) will be required.

This post requires capabilities in project management and customer relations.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multi-stakeholder teams. Experience in international projects or working with international organisations is desirable.

Willingness to travel to meetings, to meet i~HD members and other stakeholders, mainly within Europe.

The post-holder will be expected to accommodate flexibility around peaks in workload, such as when preparing a conference, and in the tasks undertaken, given the evolving nature of this new Institute.

He or she will be required to adhere to office policies and to follow defined procedures, whilst adapting to new situations and to demonstrate problem-solving capabilities.

He or she should show the ability to apply judgment in the context of assignments given, plan own work and manage conflicting priorities.
