Is there a link between the weather and how people experience pain?

The results of a research trial showed that higher humidity, lower pressure, and stronger winds were significantly associated with increased pain.

The combined data from 2658 participants and the weather were collected from every postcode across the UK between January 2016 and April 2017 via a smart phone application.

This conclusion allows for the development of new treatments and enables patients to plan their activities accordingly.

The trial was funded by Versus Arthritis (previously Arthritis Research UK)
