To achieve and maintain EUSOMA (European Society of Breast Cancer Specialists) accreditation, this hospital must report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that are reliable and transparent. At the same time, these KPIs are used to improve internal breast cancer care and clinical processes.
The challenge was that:
- KPIs were available, but insights into how they were produced were limited
- Data was captured across multiple systems and teams
- Ownership, transformations, and data quality checks were not fully visible
- It was difficult to explain or defend results beyond the final numbers
