The European Institute for Innovation through Health Data (i~HD) proudly announces the release of the eSource Scale Up Task Force publication: "Scaling eSource in Clinical Trials: A Framework of Factors and Dimensions for Successful EHR2EDC Implementation". This is the second annex of the eSource Playbook.
eSource Playbook Annex on scalability published by i~HD Task Force
i~HD is pleased to announce the release of Annex 2: eSource Scalability, a major addition to the eSource Playbook developed by the i~HD eSource Scale-Up Task Force. Building on the Data Flow Patterns presented in Annex 1, this new publication provides a practical, structured framework for scaling EHR-to-EDC integrations from pilot projects to enterprise-wide and global adoption.
Annex 2 introduces Ten Success Factors grouped into four clusters, and Eight Scalability Dimensions that define where implementation maturity must be demonstrated. The framework is informed by real-world experience from organisations including Memorial Sloan Kettering, Mayo Clinic, Cambridge University Hospitals, and University Hospital Essen.
The Annex was formally presented at the i~HD eSource Conference on 2 December 2025.
