i~HD Academy hosts UCD course on wearables tech health data

The eLearning Hub of the i~HD Academy has added a new course focused on wearable technology and health data. This course was prepared by University College Dublin.

The “Wearable Technology in Health Data” course covers various topics in the domain, starting with the rise of this innovation as well as how devices function. The learning materials proceed to the practical uses of the technology which includes sleep tracking, heart rate variability (HRV) and accuracy and blood pressure.

Beyond the insights on how wearable tech works, the course also takes the learner through other considerations, as discussed in different articles and studies. These include the trustworthiness and accuracy of the data from the wearable device and questions on privacy when using these devices.

This course was developed by University College Dublin, a consortium partner of i~HD in the SUSA project. This project aims to address the need of healthcare professionals for advanced digital skills in healthcare.
