The first batch of participating hospitals attended the closing event of i~HD's Health Data Quality Masterclass, an expert-led programme that combined high-level learnings on health data quality with hands-on workshops.

Last 7 May 2026, the closing event for the first edition of i~HD's Health Data Quality Masterclass was held in Ghent, Belgium. The three participating hospitals - AZ Maria Middelares, AZORG and UZ Gent - all attended the special session through their respective representatives.

i~HD experts Jens Declerck (Health Data Quality Manager) and Sonia Priou (Clinical Data Scientist) facilitated the event through a presentation that covered the validation and evidence check for the use cases that were submitted by the participants, reflection and positioning where relevant regulations and initiatives were explained and the post-Masterclass journey for the hospitals and the ecosystem.

"This Masterclass is about building trust, not in individual datasets, but in a replaceable process that makes data-driven decisions reliable."

i~HD Data Quality Masterclass

i~HD expresses its gratitude for the enthusiasm of all participating hospitals in the introductory edition of i~HD Masterclass Health Data Quality. The Masterclass is already planned to be offered for its next edition, open to all interested hospitals and organisations who would like to unlock their potential through better health data quality and by identifying use cases that can be addressed in a collaborative and tailored series of discussions.

Good quality health data is vital for safe and effective patient care, for hospitals to optimise their care pathways and to be the knowledge fuel for research. Every hospital needs to learn about its quality issues and how it can improve its data. As well as learning from our data quality experts, they brought case study examples that they could examine together and learn from collectively. They will now go forward supporting each other with putting their quality improvement measures into practice.
